汎用的に使える新しい発明を気合いを入れて紹介したとき、「あ、それは■■に使えるね」みたいな反応が返ってくると残念な気持ちになる。大きな話が矮小化されたように感じてしまうからだし、そういう反応を返す人の発想レベルを疑ってしまうこともある。

When I enthusiastically introduce a new invention that can be used for general purposes, I feel disappointed when I get a response like, "Oh, that's useful for ■■." This is because it makes me feel as if the big story is trivialized, and it also makes me doubt the level of thinking of the people who responded in that way.

同じことを自分もやってるかもしれないので注意が必要である。本当に賢い人は矮小化した返答はしないようだし。
